Dark clouds in the morning, heavy rain at 9.30 am and continued raining till 11 am..Nothing much to do outside..nice day to turn the pages of book The Bag Making Bible by Lisa Lam..I managed to whip up this reversible bucket back in this mournful black and white combo fabric in 2 hours, manage to chase the blues away from my heart...even for a while...
As usual...i always have problems with the bias binding...huhuhu...

My almost perfect cosmo bag....
Today i can smile from ear to ear.I am so happy that i have fully digested Amy Butler's tutorial with the help from fellow blogger Jemellia..This time i really enjoy the making process although my first try was a failure...And this is the living proof..huhuhu

New fabric found..
While searching for white cotton fabrics for my 30 single bed skirt project i stumble upon these polka dotted materials in pink, black and white..They are gorgeous for bag making.... hmm...what else that inspire me most..
That black polka dot somehow matches this animal print fabric from ikea.
Actually this fabric belongs to Fatin ..It has now turn into a tab curtain for the door to her bed room. But now it is hung on to my meter ruler...huhuhu
Its going to take a while before i can start making any bags.I am rather short of staff. My priority is still curtains and bed skirts..So i will just seat and gaze at these beauties till i can find the right time to sew...

My gigantic Cosmo bag is a disaster.
I babble about my venture into making of this huge bag here .Unfortunately i could not comprehend the last stage of the tutorial where i need to attach the lining and the main bag exterior. And the thick interfacing made things more difficult and i ended hand stitched all round the handle..And the end product looks devastating.I will definitely try again..in the near future..hahaha making this bag using the normal paper gum interfacing instead of this thick interfacing..I think i prefer the more softer texture of the bag as oppose to the so stiff baggy look using thick interfacing which i did with this one.It is so challenging..Here take a look at the Monster..
Better luck next time.....no!i am not giving up,thats for sure..Will try to digest Amy's tutorial again and again and again..just like i did all the cutting and cutting ,fusing and fusing....
| Pathetic looking handles....half way are machine stitch and hand-stitched at certain thick corners.. huhuhu |
| This bag is now housing my scraps...No way i am hauling this bag with me..What a shame.I started making in high spirits but am now disappointed with the final stages. |

A house for my magazines.
I have been neglecting this blog quite too often.Blame it all on my tight schedule trying to get all orders done before dd day....Hari Raya to be specific..and since bag making is just my favorite past time it is always at the end of any of my to-do list every week..I am so happy if i could just sew one measly bag a week just to keep me sane..Somehow when i stop doing something for too long i kind of lost touch of the steps in the making.
While cleaning up my cupboards i found a bolster cover all lonesome..It is in jade green.I must have sold her friends ..the pillow sleeps and the fitted sheet.Somehow the customer did not want the bolster cover..so i ripped off the stitches...am pretty good at this....and used the whole material to create this huge bag.
Plenty of pockets inside and out.Snap buttons on both sides if i need to reduce the size of the bag and use it as a shoulder bag perhaps. ..Enjoy the pics..

Same roses in plain green lining and smaller in size..
These bags are so easy to make and sellable.. After spending half the day cutting curtain materials i like to sneak into my own room and indulge into some reading. And my latest obsession is of course books on bag making. And this blog is focus entirely on my adventure into bag making..I like to make simple structured bag especially when demand is high among my customers. But one thing for sure the roses in heavy cotton has been an all time favourite among friends and clients. And since they are all selling so cheaply they are always up for grabs. But when i introduce a zip and increase the price slightly ,customers will complain and i will end up selling bags with zips at an equally same price as those without them..Haish!So better keep it simple and make everybody happy....

More roomy bags..
This time with frills on the front outer pocket..
I keep making the same boxy bags but each time i make a bag i will try to put new things that i pick up from the various craft blogs in the internet. This time is the frills on the pocket.
